I have a good (not new in box) condition El Monte 180 (Ser. number prefix is A06___) in 44 AMP for sale. This pistol is part of an estate left to a friend of mine. He knows less than nothing about guns and even less than that about limited collector pieces such as the Auto Mag. I have been enlisted to help in the efforts to liquidate a large number of firearms and this is one of the last ones left.
SO, here goes...The pistol is in good shape and I have had a pistol smith look it over and he determined that the pistol is in working order with no stress cracks or major malfunctions. I have not shot this pistol due to the lack of ammunition for it at my local clubs. This particular pistol is an El Monte California production piece with the black plastic grips. I do NOT have the box, tools, oil, manuals or additional magazines for this gun. The gun will come with one magazine that also appears to be in fine condition with high spring tension and very few wear marks. In the condition that this pistol appears to be in it is probably not your best bet to buy for a collector piece, but it is sure to be an excellent shooter for someone who is looking for a pistol that is sure to impress others at the local gun club. Price for this pistol is $1,750.00 OBO. Pics: |

I have gun for sale at a few sites. If gun sells on one of the other locations I will make note of it back here.

Am I too high on the price on this gun for the times or something? I am willing to negotiate to a reasonable number if that is the case.

Mort, I must have missed that memo! I'd take that one off your hands but I just dished out 3k on surgery for my dog. It's my on-going venture to put my vets kids though college. We are on a 1st name basis, don't-cha-know.

Darrell, man I know how you feel. We spent over 2k on my cat a few years ago. He died almost a year ago, even though we loved him its just too much $$$ and tears so he will be our last........good luck, sorry to derail the thread.

Dogs and cats get to be members of the family...that's for sure. For cripes sake I pay monthly health pet insurance for my dog (wondering when Obama is going to offer insurance for all the underinsured pets out there). Only lost one pet in my life and he was the best pheasant dog you would have ever seen.
![]() On a happier note I believe that I have the gun sold pending funds to a member here. We have been in email contact for the past few days and I am happy to say that this guy seems like a good and deserving owner who will not only be a great caretaker of this piece of history but I do believe that he plans to actually shoot the darned thing. Never understood safe queens...if you want to look at it why not just buy a poster? ![]() |

Waldonbuddy, Mortman Yeah, I kinda wish I had bought pet insurance but it was kind of expensive too. Guess it evens out. Only thing is I've got 3 dogs. Never new they had "specialists" like humans do!!! Ouch! In the old days, dog would have just "ran away". Never to be seen again. Glad someone will be using the pistol. I'm with u Mortman, I'm not a collector yet. I still use my stuff they way it was intended.
