Now that the Supreme Court says you can own a gun, how will the anti's figure out a way to make it difficult?
A good day for us and the USA.

It's too bad it took all that time and money to interpret what the Constitution meant.
They could have paid me $1000 to interpret it.......

It only took 219 years for the Supreme Court to decide that "The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" means "The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"!
Today it's agreat day for America. Soon the AutoMag may become legal again in California!

Sorry Max, the less than supreme court did not decide that “The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”,,, You give them way too much credit for being able to read and interpret what was written in plain and clear English so long ago and so well understood by the common man. And If that was not enough, the founding fathers even went so far as to write supporting documentation just so that situations like we have seen for the last 50 years+ would not happen. And that was written in even clearer language and they said flat out that they did not trust big government to not try to take our gun rights away! Interesting to see just how right they were and just how far the big government machine will go to ignore those well documented writings. And only now are they giving us back our rights, but sadly in a very piecemeal fashion,,, Unfortunately all they did this time was to determine that you have a basic right to own a gun and that gun ownership cannot be banned outright. They did not go so far as to determine we have an un-infringed right,,, as the Bill of Rights says we do. Sooooo whats the difference, well states can still make you get licenses, and they can make you get liability insurance for just owning one and more coverage if you carry or use it,,, They can make you get ballistic fingerprints of your guns, and make you register them! They can still restrict certain models (by caliber – or class – or even because they look like “bad guns!”) So don’t get too excited just because they are telling Chicago and DC that they have to let people own guns, they can still make it so restrictive that all you could own if a brown-bess and you need to carry 10 million dollars worth of liability insurance just incase it falls over and bruises a masked assailants toes while he is attacking you with the latest and greatest weapons he can buy on any street corner for half the price we pay for legal guns,,, Sorry for being a pessimist, but we got nothing from the less than supreme court and for those of us who live in gun control states, NOTHING has or will change. And I for one CANNOT buy a new or used Auto Mag(unless its already in the state and grandfathered in) because they are not on my states roster,,, GH |

Hey George,
This is only the second crack on the door that we had in over 200 years! We can ignore it or we can "Sue the Bastards" (This is a good time to do it: They are all broke)!
How can you have allowed things to get so bad in your state, when your neighbors Vermont and New Hampshire have some of the least restrictive gun laws in the country!
As for me, tomorrow I'm going to Wal-Mart to buy a cleaning brush for my Commander... And, to make sure that it fits, I'm going to wear it!
In Pennsylvania, we have open carry laws except in Philadelphia. However, the state preemption for local laws is not enforced. We'll see what happens!
He, if I can find a Starbucks around here, I may even have my first $8.00 cappuccino!
When you don't exercise you rights, you WILL lose them!

Hi Max, I am one of the licensed few in my state and my license is unrestricted, not because they offered it that way, but because I demanded it that way! So you see we (you and I) are on the page, though I have to confess that I am not happy to have to have a license, but I did want to preserve my “right” It’s a very bad situation up here, but then this is the seat of liberalism,,, As for the Starbucks, well guess I’ll hold out for a Canadian Club or maybe Seagrams GH

I think it will be interesting if they can apply this to states like CA and MA where there are "approved " lists of guns that can be purchased.
In MI right now, there is a bill to due away with the requirement to get a purchase permit for handguns. Too many police departments are strapped for personnel and money. The whole process is burden on the police and the citizen.
We can only home a return to some common sense approach.

I believe the word "infringed" needs to be put before the court. It is an infringement that of the 100's of pistols for sale, the State limits which ones you can buy.
I store sells 75 cleaning products but I have to buy Ajax or Mr. Clean.
I looked the word up in various dictionaries on line. The difinitions use words such as: Encroach, trespass, obsolete, defeat, frustrate, etc....
Isn't that what licenses, permits, waiting periods and a host of other inhibiting, costly and time consuming laws do? Infringe?
Personally, I'd like to start seeing States secede from the union. Maybe in my lifetime, one or more might do it.

I have to reply to GH----Max you are RIGHT---THE CONSERVATIVES have had a big day and hopefully it is just a beginning to our rights as gun owners--while it shoud have been our God given right to bear arms in the first place ----by the constitution--politics still play into the scheme of things--thank God we do not have to rely on the liberals of California to set the laws/standards for the rest of the country---
I agree GH you are a pessimist-----do something about it ---start something in CA instead of bitching about it..............

Hi Conny,
Your mention of secession is not as far fetched as some may think. As of this date, seven states have enacted their own version of FFA (Firearms Freedom Act), which exempts guns manufactured and sold within the state from all federal regulations.
Montana was the first and is already being challenged in court by the feds. The most recent was Wyoming; and they even make it a felony for any federal agent to attempt to enforce any federal regulation on guns made and sold within the state (including fully automatic and silencers). I just can't wait to see this: State Police vs. ATF
I believe that with the proper diligence and intolerance, this SCOTUS decision could become the Roe Vs Wade of gun rights.
Also Conny, the other key words in the second amendment is "to bear" which clearly means to "carry unrestrictedly"! In fact, any reasonable interpretation of the words "SHALL not be infringed", makes any restrictions; except maybe for a SPEEDY background check, contrary to the letter and the spirit of the second amendment!
All we have to do is to be as persistent as the liberals and eventually we can win this one!
